Frequently asked questions

The process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design and current workload. We can discuss your timeline during our consultation.

We provide a diverse selection of leather types, each with unique properties suited for different styles and preferences.

  • Cowhide: Known for its durability and strength, cowhide is a popular choice for jackets that require resilience. It can withstand wear and tear, making it ideal for everyday use. Cowhide has a slightly stiff feel when new but softens over time, developing a beautiful patina.
  • Lambskin: This leather is exceptionally soft and lightweight, offering a luxurious feel. Lambskin is perfect for a fitted jacket that emphasizes comfort and style. However, it is less durable than cowhide, so it’s best for more casual wear or fashion statements.
  • Suede: Made from the underside of the animal hide, suede has a distinctive texture that offers a unique aesthetic. It is soft and supple but requires careful maintenance to prevent staining and damage. Suede is often used for jackets that are more fashion-oriented and may not be as practical for heavy-duty wear.
  • Goatskin: Known for its softness and strength, goatskin has a unique grain and is often used for jackets that blend durability with a refined look. It’s lightweight and has a natural sheen, making it a stylish option.
  • Napa Leather: This is a type of lambskin that has been treated to be extremely soft and flexible. Napa leather jackets are luxurious and comfortable, ideal for high-fashion pieces or sophisticated looks.
  • Buffalo Leather: Renowned for its toughness and distinctive texture, buffalo leather is thicker and more rugged than cowhide. It has a natural grain and is highly resistant to wear, making it an excellent choice for jackets designed for outdoor use or a rugged aesthetic.
  • Baby Buffalo Leather: This leather comes from younger buffalo and retains many of the desirable characteristics of full buffalo leather but is slightly softer and more supple. It offers a great balance between durability and comfort, making it ideal for those seeking a stylish yet tough jacket.

Absolutely! We can customize the color to your preference. We can also provide samples to help you decide.

To ensure a perfect fit for your custom leather jacket, we recommend booking an appointment for an initial fitting. During this session, I will take precise measurements of your chest, waist, hips, shoulders, and arm length, among others. This personalized approach helps us achieve the best possible fit from the start.

In addition to the initial fitting, you may be requested to come in for one or two follow-up fittings throughout the making process. This allows us to make any necessary adjustments to the fit and ensure that the jacket meets your expectations perfectly. We’ll work closely together at each step to make sure you’re completely satisfied with the fit and style.

We encourage customization! You can add pockets, zippers, linings, and stitching patterns. Just let us know your ideas!
